A LOOK AT THE GARDEN

.

In the center of the Garden is a life-sized bronze sculpture entitled "Hope". This beautiful sculpture shows the welcoming grace and understanding heart of Jesus. That is the center of the message of the Garden . . .He will lovingly listen to your pain and extend to you His grace.

As He sits next to the woman, He is tenderly holding her baby in His arms. Your baby, too, is now safe with Him. That is a comfort that only God can give.

It is possible that you have experienced moments of grief or shame or even guilt. That is very common after an abortion. Many post-abortive women thought they would feel only great relief but now they realize that very often sorrow is a big part of their lives. May your visit here begin to heal your broken heart.

There is a memorial stone in the Garden of Hope that lists the names of many babies. Maybe you have already thought about what you might have named your precious little one. You may write us for information on how to include your baby's name on the stone with all the others.

Near the top of the stone we have engraved the words "Until you hold me in heaven, I am safe in the arms of Jesus". What a wonderful comfort! Through faith in Him, a wonderful reunion can take place some day.

Several of our links will take you to sites that can help you in your spiritual journey. Please remember that you are dearly loved by God.

Maybe you have told no one else about your abortion, but He has always known. . .and loves you still. You have to hold onto that! The Bible, God's actual words to us, reminds us again and again that although we do things we never thought we would, He does not angrily reject us. Sometimes we almost hate ourselve for the messes we make in life but God continues to assure us that He will not turn His back on us.

We want to help in any way that we can.
The Garden was built in love for you.

The Grand Rapids Garden is located in Restlawn Memorial Park, 3450 Eastern Avenue. It is open 24 hours a day and there is no charge to visit.
